Background: I purchased this game for my wife. She isn’t really a gamer and she doesn’t enjoy many shooter-type games, but she loved Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare. For this very reason I ordered her Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 for her birthday. First impressions: A lot of the same from PVZ:GW, but we love the additions. We have really enjoyed the new options for gameplay, and we highly recommend it. Pros: 1. My wife really enjoys the fact that there are quests/campaigns for a single player. It feels like there are more options to the game and you don’t have to depend on having someone else to play with. This one is far less glitch, and most problems can be traced back to my garbage internet connection then anything game side. The major complaint I have is that you get experience instead of coins for your actions like the first game. I feel they should have just done both......BUT, after you gain 10 levels, you upgrade the character and get 20,000 coins. Not sure how much XP it takes to get 10 levels, but it's got to be semi comparable. The downside is.......you can only upgrade each guy 6?? times I believe. The positive is there are over 110 different characters you can unlock and level up, and by the time you are done leveling up the guys the game gives you by default, you'll have half the other characters unlocked. So it's a different approach that I think could've just been made simpler by allowing characters to level up and you get coins equal to the experience you were earning, no matter where you were earning it. There is more single player style games that can be enjoyed and even smoother graphics to make the whole experience better. There have been characters added to the game to increase the level of chaos on any given map and a great feature is that you can migrate your stickers and money from the first game to this one which saves you from having to collect every single piece over again. All in all a great time and totally suitable for younger kids as low as age 4, beyond that they cant really handle the controllers very well and as we all know kids below the age of three are generally covered with a sticky film all over their hands which never really goes away and seemingly transfers from surface to surface with ease. For this fact alone i would recommend not letting very small children play this game. You dont want to have to give your control an overhaul after a toddler jams the buttons and analogs full of toddler gunk.
