Nonverbal behaviours that takes the place of a verbal message.
Example:
Parents giving their child the evil eye when they are doing something they are not supposed to.
4.Accenting:
Nonverbal behavior that emphasizes a part of a verbal message.
Example: Changing pitch to accentuate one word or using sarcasm, or gestures to bring attention to a certain part of your verbal message - gestures for quotes?
5.Regulating:
Nonverbal cues control the flow of verbal communication.
Example: Nodding, moving towards the exit, standing up from the
table.
6.Contradicting:
Nonverbal behavior that is inconsistent with a verbal message.
Example: Ever tried to tell someone you were fine, when you were crying?
